   Councils are employed by us. Environmental measures should read ‘extra taxes’ how much does it cost to ‘recycle’ rubbish, if it ever is truly recycled. Prove it is!

   Environmentalism can be used in the same way as any other set of ideas, for personal gain or as a smokescreen. Like in Quantum of Solace, wot I watched yesterday. We should always be watchful for loss of liberty. But laws and rules are needed to get us lazy ignorant masses doing something necessary, for the greater good, especially in times of crisis. Like rationing during the war. Except of course, global issues are harder to see and act on. Lets face it, there are a million laws that try to ensure we don’t mess the place up for others, like: not dropping litter, not building something without planning permission, annoying neighbours with loud music or, killing people. But even they don’t work 100%. I think as ever, financial costs and convenience will be the main drivers. You can date someone in another country, but it costs more and its a hassle. We adapt to the conditions, and as long as they are the same for everyone, no one will mind, apart from to look back on the good old days with nostalgia; remember the 80′s, when petrol was 30p a litre and you could fill your bin to overflowing, ah, life was sweet.
