That Was Then, This Is Now

In the 1980′s if you wanted to film your friends cavorting around (not like that, pervert) then you’d need to carry the slick kit and caboodle pictured on the left.

Of course now here in the brave new 21st century hip young gun-slingers like me carry camcorders like the one on the right.

If only my grandfather was around to see these amazing advances in technology.

    Yes even although it is such a short time ago since he departed, he would be utterly amazed and totally fascinated by the advances. What? Recording on a hard drive from TV? Eh by gum lad!!!

    It’s amazing to think that in 1980 a 5MB hard disk was the size of a small shoe box. 28 years later and I now have, in my pocket, an 8GB memory chip the size a flake of paint.

    1,600 times the storage in a tiny package.

    It would have been great to be able to show him all these things.
