Looks like there’s a new series of alien spacecraft photos doing the rounds on the interwebs. Like this one here.
What do you think that is then? The word on the webs is that it’s a drone of some description, which makes sense as there doesn’t appear to be any kind of cockpit or deck area.
What about the design though? It’s a bit strange isn’t it, all those antenna and the three prongs. Undeniably cool, but crazy all the same.
It’s said that more and more pics of things like this are surfacing, I’d love to think that one day there will be full disclosure on things like this but I’ve got my cynical head on and I think it’s probably just a hoax.
Part three in my quest for home cinema perfection has arrived, the Onkyo TX-SR875 is now taking pride of place in the living room!
Have a look at this!
Look at all those inputs, look at the amazing number of HDMI ports. Just look at it! It’s a work of art and no mistaking.
I’ve only got it set up for 5.1 at the moment but soon, and I do hope it is soon, I will purchase an extra set of speakers so that I can enjoy the joyous feeling of the TrueHD 7.1 surround sound that’s tucked away on all my Blu-rays.
After reading a bit about Arthur C Clarke on the rather cool Mental_Floss, I was reminded of his three laws.
They’re clearly a little bit tongue in cheek but you can see that they do make a lot of sense too.
When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
He was quite a guy I tell thee.
Of course I have my own three laws, come on, you knew I would.
Never wash red socks. Ever. It only leads to pink clothes.
Fixing electrical appliances whilst drunk is not a good idea.
Whenever someone says they don’t care they do. When they say they do care they might not.
Most famous for the wonderful 2001: A Space Odyssey, which he created with his friend Stanley Kubrick, Clarke was a science fiction writer without compare.
He gave us so much more though, for starters the principles behind geo-stationery satellites were one of his works. In case you’re not familiar with the premise, it is essentially what allows things like Sky television to work. I suppose for some people, that might make him a bit of a villain!
His books are uniformly stunning, crammed full of amazing ideas and are written with a style that belies their geekiness.
I know that my great mate Bridz completed Portal in my presence (I may have been pissed) and no doubt he saw the amazing end song and video to ‘Still Alive’. However I did not.
As I am yet to complete Portal on my own, I had to resort to a bit of crafty Googling to find the awesome end song that is ‘Still Alive’.
Thankfully YouTube is here to save the shit gamers amongst us that have yet to complete Portal but still want to hear the amazing end song. For those of us that applies to, watch this.
Awesome isn’t it? Those gun emplacements really seem to have the song writing knack don’t they?
The gene pool nearlygot shallower last month. Read the article and then answer the following question.
Why would you want to walk with a lion?
What kind of outlook on the world do you have to have to think that going walking with lions is a good idea? The whole notion of getting up close and personal with a creature that has evolved over thousands of years, to the point where it is now a 570 pound lump of walking muscle that could tear you apart, is completely alien to me.
What’s worse is that this woman is a teacher, a headmistress no less! It’s good to know that the education of future generations is once again in the safe hands of people like this. You know, I bet she classes herself as a ‘cat person’ and this is where her ridiculous notion regarding the cuteness of lions comes from.
Oh, and to the Daily Telegraph writer that came up with the web page title ‘Tourist tangles with killer lion’, a word of advice. The adjective ‘killer’ is usually entirely unnecessary, it’s a bit like saying wet water. Although in this case, ironically, it is also wholly inaccurate.
I just got rudely awoken, no not by the dustmen, but rather by work. Harrumph.
Well seeing as I’m awake now and can’t get back to sleep (roll on 07:30 train!) I may as well post this most excellent video by the highly talented Rhett and Link.
I think they’re friends of the wonderful iJustine, then again aren’t we all?
Get yourself over to Emo Arse, I’ve finally finished it!
It all looks a bit, well, green at the minute (in more ways than one) but hopefully soon it’s going to be chock full of diatribes about the youth of today.
As per the site is open to some change, so if you’ve got any ideas let me know.
