Where Have All The Golden Grahams Gone?

Update: Click here to get a chance to sign the petition!

Well? Where? Do you know, because I don’t. I’ve hunted high and low and I can’t find a single box of Golden Grahams on the shelves of any of my local supermarkets.

There are plenty of boxes of Curiously Cinnamon, which I assume are what used to be Cinnamon Grahams, but not a single box of Golden Grahams. Of course the emo-hermaphrodite working in the cereal aisle at Morrison’s was less than helpful when quizzed about the mystery, although it did venture into the back to look for me. Which as we all know is code for shuffle off to the back of the shop to mooch around for a bit before returning to claim that they didn’t have any. Which is what it did.

So, no further forward, I was certain the interwebs would hold the answer to this enigma. Fat chance. The Nestlé website still lists Nestlé Cinnamon Grahams but no Nestlé Golden Grahams. Bastards.

(I’m going to take off at a bit of a ranty tangent here but why do they insist on listing everything as Nestlé so and so? I’m on the cocking Nestlé website, I know I’m looking at Nestlé products. Jesus. Get over yourselves.)

It’s a travesty that Golden Grahams have been vanished but Cinnamon Grahams (aside from the sly name change) still exist. I always found Cinnamon Grahams to be too powdery and, well, cinnamony for my tastes. Golden Grahams were delicious, just the right balance of sugar and more sugar. Perfect.

This is all very curious.

It would appear that all trace of Golden Grahams ever existing has been erased from history and I really, really fucking liked them. What happened? I demand answers!

Sure, its nearly been a year since you posted this but…

    THEY’VE GONEEE!!!

    *sobs*

    I miss them so much!

They were discontinued in England because they had wayyy too much sugar and salt in them so were deemed unhealthy. :-(

They still sell them basically in every other country mind! I’m thinking of moving to America myself…

They are on eBay for a hefty price but you can never be sure if they will actually get through customs as they have been banned from England. Sucky, huh?

    x

  2. Crackerwax:

Who deemed them to be unhealthy? What cocking rotter said that? I demand a name, for I will be visiting them to give them a good hearty stabbing up for ruining my breakfast time.

I’m an adult, I’ll decide what I eat, not anyone else.

    Grrr.

  3. The Doth:

I can’t believe that Golden Grahams have been wiped out!

They made perfect sense! How can they tell us what we can and can’t eat! Wrong in every sense.

  4. Ben:

All I can say is I miss Golden Grahams and Lucky Charms so, so, so much!!!

It made waking up worthwhile to get the yummyness of these two cereals…

I was in Bluewater shopping centre the other day and a sweet shop was selling boxes of Lucky Charms… But for £7.99 a box!!!

    No Golden Grahams tho! :(

    Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

  5. Crackerwax:

Sad but true, they have disappeared from the shelves.

Perhaps a campaign to bring them back may do some good?

    Anyone fancy that?

  6. Restless Cheese:

I’m a Cinnamon Grahams fan! I also miss Big Red chewing gum.

  7. Mo:

Yeah, I know how you all feel, and I’ve had to move onto something else, Honey Shreddies and they taste good but it ain’t the same, I miss Golden Grahams…

  8. Caz:

I keep looking for these everywhere! I´ve just come back from Spain where they still sell them and Golden Graham cereal bars (which I have stocked up on!). They wont last forever though!

These and Lucky Charms need to come back!

  9. Dan Metcalfe:

    Guys!

I have brought back 250 boxes of Golden Grahams from Thailand, it wasn’t easy, I’m not joking. My wife has broken up with me over it and my kids haven’t spoken to me in over 9 weeks. To add to this I have lost my house as I can no longer afford my mortgage repayments on a single wage.

But boy was it worth it, Golden Grahams for the next six years!

  10. Helen:

Golden Grahams are my son’s only Christmas food request, have been searching for ages. How can they ban food deemed unhealthy whilst cigarettes and alcohol are on sale! Not that I want a ban on alcohol!

  11. Jon:

@Helen You’re quite right, why would they do this?! It’s political correctness gone mad!

  12. Annie:

I’m devastated at the fact Golden Grahams are no longer around. I sent my husband to every super market to look for them and when he asked the shop assisstant in Morrison’s she told him that she thought I was pregnant and was craving certain foods!!! No!! I just really, really, really liked Golden Grahams!!!

  13. Sophie Griffiths:

I need Golden Grahams!!! I am 8 months pregnant and I have craved for them!!! I feel like cryin’ coz I can’t have them!!! How could they get rid of something so important in peoples lives!!! i loved lucky charms to and the fuckers took them out of my life as well.

  14. Jon:

This flurry of Golden Grahams related commenting is all very surreal.

Perhaps I need to start a petition?

  15. Isaac Fennell:

How can Golden G’s have more sugar than Cinnamon G’s?? (i refuse to relate to them as Curiously Cinnamon) Ever licked a cinnamon G? its just pure sugar and cinnamon! not complaining mind… i eat them out the box, i take them with me – excellent train food.

^^^ Bring back Golden Grahams on Facebook

  16. sam stilton:

stupid system, why not ban sugar all together? whats stopping people eating bag fulls? if you compare a box ( the nutritional information ) with other uk cereals, it doesnt have more salt or sugar than them!!! so whats the reason? well, all i know is that im going to dubai and bringing back a suitcase full….oh, and why do we still have cinnamon grahams or ”curiously cinnamon”??? surely they have the same everything, just one has more cinnamon which only adds to the sugar? maybe its to keep the uk population low, so basically they want us all to move to america or any other country in the world as ITS ONLY FLIPPIN UK WHO DONT SELL IT!

  17. Jade Tayor:

Sign my petition to bring back Golden Grahams :D

    Thanks, Jade xxx

  18. G Hawk:

Golden Grahams are proud! I miss them so much, I have a longing that must be be satisfied! Dan any chance of a box?

  19. Cravin' Mama:

I am gutted!! Personally I think someone is so addicted to them they’ve robbed every single box!!! Wish it was me, have been craving them since the start of my pregnancy, I took them for granted really thought they’d always be there!!! Bring ‘em back!!!

  20. Graham:

There’s a little shop in Colchester that sells them! Wahoo! their website is http://www.thefoodcompany.co.uk. I love it! the shop is right on my doorstep so good luck cos I might have bought them all! I love Golden Grahams and I’m so glad i finally found some.

  21. Becky...:

I was looking on the net cause of the fact yes they have vanished….. They were the boss of all cereals… Sick of the sights of the cinnamon taste absolute shite!!! Nestle sort your heads out an get em back on the shelfs!!!

  22. Graham:

Stop worrying, I’ve found Golden Grahams!!!!! There’s a shop in Colchester called The Food Company just started selling them. They’ve got Lucky Charms and Fruit Loops too! I found them on the shelves but not on the website?! Work that out! I’m sorry to hear none of you have had such luck.

  23. Serenity:

Golden Grahams were the BEST god damn cereal going. It’s even harder to be 9 months pregnant and all I have the craving for is the almighty golden ones!!! How can they ban Golden Grahams and not cigarettes or Red Bull or the stuff that really poses a danger to your health?!

  24. Stuart:

I have hunted high and low for them, but nowhere sells them.

I loved when they went a bit soggy but had a crunch to them.

Bring back the mighty Golden Grahams and ditch the cinnamon ones, they’re no use.

  25. Lewis:

Hiya people, I have loved Golden Grahams all my life and I just couldn’t believe it when they vanished from the shelves I can’t believe they’re banned, absolutely ridiculous, like Serenity said why don’t they ban cigarettes (well we know they never will brings in to much of that £££) and like you said you’re an adult don’t you think we should choose what we eat?

I think we should keep complaining to Nestles about them removing them. I went to Greece about two years ago and me and my sister are addicted to them and we saw them and we ate them all week out there hence we decided to bring back six boxes with us, well letting all the air out of the packaging then sealing them back up and squeezing them in our luggage LOL, I think I should start importing them, I know you would buy them all off me.

    See you guys later.

  26. Stu:

I’m very angry at this – quite possibly the best cereal ever created! haha

Jon – you really SHOULD start a petition! It would really take off!

  27. :(:

    im soo angry!!!
why have they banned these? just because they have to much sugar in but still allow the sale of cancer causing cigarettes! when i have cereal wiv sugar or choclate already on i dont add no more sugar but when i have corn flakes or rice crispies i have the sugar bowl sitting right nxt to me pouring loads on so im proberly eating more sugar now!
I miss lucky charms too i had a bowl a couple of weeks ago cos my bf got them for his birthday, the marshmellows are so nice i would never pay £7.99 a box thats wrong
i loved the golden graham bar aswell mmmmmm lol
    Plz bring them bk Nestle!!!!!!!

  28. Marie:

I wish I had seen this earlier, I bought 2 boxes back from Spain last month!! I could have had more space in my suitcase lol

  29. Caroline:

I love Golden Grahams and have been searching for them for ages. They were always my favourite cereal and I have them at any time of the day not just breakfast. I’d been meaning to google them to find out where they’ve gone when randomly my brother mentioned them to me the other day, he misses them too. This spurred me on to try and hunt them down. Think I’ll try thefoodcompany.co.uk – wish me luck!!!

  30. Caroline:

Oh well – there’s no sign of Golden Grahams on thefoodcompany.co.uk. The have Fruit Loops and Lucky Charms for those that love and miss them!! My search goes on.

  31. Lee:

I’ve just come back from Portugal and managed to bring three boxes back with me. Although they are only going to last about two weeks I will savour every last spoonfull.

  32. Colin:

It really is a travesty that Golden Grahams are no longer on sale here. Absolutely ridiculous infact. Just came back from holiday in France where they’re easily available and I went through about 8 boxes in 10 days, I love them so much!! Something needs to be done about this. Best cereal ever made.

  33. Joe:

This is a tragedy, and we all know it. I think our best chance is to write loads of extremely emotive and eloquent letters to nestle. We should let them know how our mental and physical health have deteriorated since they were snatched from our lives. Of course shower them with praise for the creation of the best cereal ever, but then threaten them with a petition for a boycott on nestle goods… etc. etc. Good luck finding them.

  34. Amy:

I think it is ridiculous!!! How can you just ban them!!! So angry and really want some GG, CG just ain’t the same!!!

  35. Ayesha:

This is a disaster. Not only did I love them for breakfast but my boss ate them on holiday (in Portugal) and on his return asked me to buy him a few boxes ‘in every flavour’, little realising that they’ve been banned.
He presents a radio show so perhaps he can get a campaign going..

  36. Amy:

OH MY GOD I HAVE DISCOVERED ……THEY SELL THEM IN PARTIDGES IN KENSINGTON ( ON THE GLOUCESTER ROAD). £7 A BOX BUT SO WORTH IT!!

  37. chelle:

you can get thm on ebay for 9 pound! maybe if we all write to nestle and show them they took the wrong grahams off the shelves!

  38. Donna:

I was looking for proof on the internet so I could prove to my 18 year old son that I could not find any Golden Grahams anywhere no matter where I did my shopping.
This was his all time love , even when ill he could manage a bowl – morning noon and night he would eat them !! AND he has turned out a very healthy fit slim strong young man with great white teeth and never had a filling. He has not took this evidence very well, but I thank you all for providing it.
What a country we live in. tut tut tut

  39. spencer:

facebook petition to bring back golden grahams!

  40. Brown Graham:

I loved them so much I would rob my nan of her pension just to get a box. Bring back Golden Grahams

  41. spencer:

to the person above you sick freak!

  42. Brown Graham:

Spencer, another keyboard warrior, say that to that my face Grahams rule

  43. spencer:

miss brown you do sound lovely are you fat?

  44. Brown Graham:

yes I am fat because of all the Golden Grahams I ate. Bring back Lucky Charms

  45. Lycanthrope's Light.:

    WHAT?
    How can this be?
I have looked for so long and just asumed they were of short supply.
Banned however, I had not even contemplaited! How very awful! **Runs to eBay to buy some**…

  46. Nina:

I was on holiday 10 yrs ago when I fell in love with Golden Grahams. I am 7 mnths pregnant and the one thing that I have been craving for seems to not exist!!! Unbelievable!!! I asked my sis-in-law to send me some just recently but couldn’t wait so started searching for a supplier…only to find this site which is saying that its discontinued. the person who suggested a petition is a good idea. Maybe we can get it back if we tried : (

  47. Ashleigh:

    BRING THEM BACKKKKK

  48. Jamie:

How typical of our ‘British’ government. We are not treated like people rather we are treated like property. Well heres my message. This is my body and my life and I can take care of myself what I eat (not the government.)
We’ve become like The Borg from Star Trek (one mind one voice.) Life cannot work that way. If Golden Grahams are high in suger then I will look on the back of the box but to completely ban them from entering the country!!!
Black And White. Thats what we are. Prisoners and convicts is what we’re treated like!

  49. Andy:

I have just found a box in the cupboard at work! they are slightly soft but now but still taste fantastic :)

  50. Mat:

I have just emailed Nestle and signed the petition…. Just got back from Tunisia (A third world country) where to my surprise there were Golden Grahams in what you couldn’t even call a supermarket! The pack I bought lasted 3 days, they need to bring them back. I’m going to email radio 1 now and see if Scott Mills will try and bring them back for us all :)

Wish me luck, we’ll bring them back if it kills us!!

  51. Danny:

Well I loved em I really do I just bought some Cinnamon Curious or Curious Cinnamon something like that they used to be called Cinnamon Grahams so maybe they will but as a new name I will contact ‘em see what they say.

  52. Chelsea:

I love Golden Grahams and they have actually dissapeared of the face of the earth. The internet says that they aren’t sold in the uk any more :-( I think we should petition for them back! And Lucky Charms! Everyone loves them, it would so be worth it! :-) we could bring these bastards back! :-D

  53. Nikki:

Tell me about it I look high and low for GG when my son who is a soldier was out in Afghanistan over Christmas. That was one of his home comforts as a little boy and he wanted me to send some to him (not a lot to ask for, for where he was) but I could not get any for LOVE nor money

  54. lisalumley:

They sell them in america and you can get them online but they are not cheap. There is word thet they have been relesed under a new brand but not sure on details.
As usual there if a facebook group dedicated to blitchslapping nestle into submission and bringing them back!!!
    If on face book…
    http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/BRING-BACK-GOLDEN-GRAHAMS/353863039157?ref=ts

  55. Sarah:

It’s really true, Golden Grahams have vanished!! :( You can buy them in Tenerife though – Costa Adeje… 3 euros 60… I am now back home, missing Tenerife and my Golden Graham breakfast on the balcony :(

  56. nina smith:

i thought i was the only one on the hunt for GG’s. i knew lucky charms were discontinued as i was forced into buying a box for my friend at xmas for the price of about £7.99.

i dont think we will succeed in bringing them back as the salt content is too high for our new regulations on foods….. not happy about this. i miss you golden grahams… and Lucky charms just as much. R.I.P

  57. Charlie76:

It’s just the UK and it’s really starting to piss me off!

Big Kings were deemed too unhealthy so Burger King removed them from sale in the UK, go anywhere else in Europe or the world and you can eat whatever you want whenever you want.
As a sane adult or even just an adult that’s surely a choice that we should be allowed to make ourselves, once again the nanny state taking any decision we make that could potentially harm us if abused out of our hands.
I know it seems petty for just food but this is the kind of thing that really makes me hate living in the UK, along with speed cameras and all the other laws that try and control us and restrict our free thinking. This would just never happen in America!

Basically when I’m in Europe or the US I always look out for Burger King to re-taste the good old days. My suitcase is always full of Froot Loops and other sweeties and cakes that would make a UK health officer faint, long live the sweet toothed yanks.

  58. Charlie76:

In addition; after trying what we’re left with in the UK , I’d have to say that my favourate “fun” cereals are Honey Cheerios.
I’ve also tried Honey Shreddies which are ok but the flavour soon gets dull and all you’re left with is a plain Shreddie. Golden Nuggets are still available somehow, they’ve still got a sugar kick but they will tear the roof of your mouth apart.
Try places like Aldi or Lidl, they often have some novelty cereals though even they’ve removed their own Froot Loops imitation cereal for probably sugar and salt reasons.

  59. Calvin Mannerings:

i found golden grahams in a supermarket in majorca, not much help for us here in the uk but myself and my family enjoyed several boxes of them while on our hols this july 2010 and at 2 euros a box i thought it was quite a bargain. im going to lanzarote in october lets see if they have them there
